A Great Evening!

Just what was needed, a good concert, good music and a laugh. Matthew Good provides it all. We had a great evening at the Matthew Good concert tonight, he was brilliant as always. We had fantastic seats in the second row from the front in the centre! So cool!

What a week!

After a complete and utter crap week of sudden illnesses and accidents, I am sitting down with a very large glass of red wine, with headphones on listening to the latest Matthew Good CD Vancouver. My daughter and I are going to see his concert tomorrow in Victoria and I can't wait!! I love his music.

It's been a very rainy day today on the island but we enjoyed a good blustery walk down the beach, just what I needed to blow the weeks problems away!

Thinking of you too Marilyn, take care xxx

Rainy days, sleepy dogs and a bit of dabbling with the mud!

We are having some very overcast and wet days here on the island at the moment, not that I mind them at all. Today was a rather lazy day, even the dogs were all sleepy by the wood stove all snuggled in their blankie, so while they were snoozing(they usually start being naughty as soon as I want to do something, just like children) I thought I would continue with my project! It is sloooowly beginning to take shape and I mean slowly! I seem to be adding clay and adding clay and the shape doesn't appear to be changing shape that quickly. Do you think it's beginning to look like anything in particular?! I will not tell you what hubby says it looks like!!! He is soo rude! haha
I also got some new tools in the mail today! Exciting!! Now I have to figure how best to use them! I think, I will probably be able to try some of them out when I am finishing my _____!!

Just another day in paradise :o))

Saturday's are the only day we all get time to do something together so we always try to go out somewhere to a lovely beach or a gorgeous park and walk some trails. This was today's adventure, it is a little place not far from where we live called Knockan Hill. Isn't it pretty?

Little pot!

I picked up my little pinch pot that I made at home the other day, I had stained it first with an oxide stain then I just did a white glaze, I thought it would have turned out a little different and I thought the stain would made the texture on the pot a little more define, but alas that wasn't so. I find staining and glazing a complete mystery, sometimes pieces turn out similar to examples at the studio but often they turn out totally different. I still love it though, now I have another little dish to put bits of bobs in! Hmm maybe a nice little pot to put some M & M's in ;o)))

New piece started :o))))

Today I started a new piece, and there is not a single trunk in sight!!!!!! hehe  I am really hoping it turns out good, I might a bit of guidance from my teacher for this one. Watch this space!!! hehe

Fantastic Weekend :o)

We had a really great weekend, Saturday was a really wet day, I think we had about 30mm of rain, it hasn't really rained like that since about May  so we can't complain too much, it didn't stop us going out though, we had a lovely walk in Sidney along the seafront, and also took the dogs to a new doggie park. Then on Sunday we went to the gorgeous Hatley Park Gardens, the colours of the trees are so pretty right now, so many bright beautiful reds and gorgeous yellow and oranges. Autumn is my favorite season of the year it brings back so many memories of my childhood, collecting horse chestnuts to play conkers with, and the other chestnuts to roast at home. I used to have a part time job raking up peoples leaves for them, I was only about 13 or so so it was great to get a bit of pocket money. Happy times ;o)
