We woke up to the voice of our neighbors little boy shouting "Mum, I'm gonna make snow angels"!!! I thought "snow angels, nooooo"!!! Thankfully this is all we got.... so far! We are under a snowfall warning at the moment, not sure if we will get much at this end of the island, hopefully not! I really do want a green Christmas this year, I haven't seen one for 20 years!
Oh! records were set at Edmonton International airport this morning, the wind-chill was minus 59!!!! I am soooooo glad we moved! haha
Later this morning we headed off to the beach and took the dogs for a walk, they just love it when there is lots of new seaweed to sniff and nibble and driftwood that has been washed up. I wish they didn't eat as much seaweed though! Sometimes they go along like they are starving!!!

Brrrr!!!! Another chilly walk!
It is still chilly here on the island but at least the wind has dropped now. The forecast for the end of the week and the weekend is flurries!! ARGH!!!! Nooooo! I am hoping we don't get what we got this time last year!
We walked one of our regular beaches with the dogs today, I am always amazed how a beach changes with the weather and the tides, driftwood come and goes, pebbles come and go, somedays the beach is so sandy and other days it is just full of pebbles. Today the beach had a sort of ledge or drop in it, the sand dropped about a foot or more to a lower level. We have never seen it like that before. We met a lady down there who has lived here a long time and she said she has never seen it like that either. Not sure what caused it.
My daughter and I were looking for beach glass and anything else interesting, but my daughter wasn't expecting to find a monkey on the beach! Nooo not a real one! A little plastic monkey was peeking out of the sand and guess what?! She loves monkeys, she is a collector of monkey's, so it was quite fitting that she should find one on the beach... if I keep looking hard enough maybe I will find an elephant!!!!

Wooly Hats and Mittens!
That's what we needed today. The island is getting a battering with the strong winds, last night we had a wind warning and it has continued throughout the day and it carries on into the night. There has been quite a bit of damage down in Victoria, trees down and scaffolding ripped down from a 3 story building.
We drove down to Dallas Road where we hoped to see some huge crashing waves but they weren't as big as we were expecting. It was a bit rougher further round the coast though but we didn't get any pics there.
It was really chilly too, only about 1 degree C. Not as chilly as Alberta though, hehe, minus 29 there tonight!! Our other daughter is not impressed, she wants to come live on sunny Van Island too!!

Another year older! :o)))
It's my birthday today! Another year gone by, the older I get the faster the years seem to be going! Argh!!
I have been a very lucky girl I got some beautiful birthday cards from family and wonderful friends. My lovely daughters made their own cards and guess what is on them?! Yep Elephants! You know I looove elephants and my cards are so cool, I love them.
I also got a beautiful bouquet of flowers and an edible flower arrangement! I have never received an edible one before, but they are soooo good and very yummy!
This evening we will celebrate with a nice bottle of red wine!

Drum roll............. I would like you to meet Oumbie!!
It has taken me weeks to get this guy finished!!! You pro's (Mr R) make it look sooo easy and it isn't!! hehe
I called him Oumbie after a male gorilla in England who is making lots of young female gorilla's very happy in the Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire. He is now drying at the studio then he will be fired. I made sure I took some pictures of him just incase he should have a mishap in the kiln. But I will have all my fingers crossed that he doesn't!!! I would be sooo upset. He took about 20 hrs to make. The texturing part of the whole process is what I have trouble with, the teacher says just do it and don't be afraid, but I am slightly nervous incase I mess it all up! I just need to get some more confidence and not be afraid!

What's that strange thing in the sky?! Oh it's the sun!!!!!!
We headed off down to Cattle Point to walk the dogs, they really enjoyed their walk and a good old sniff around.
There was a lot of huge long bits of seaweed on the beach too, they are so big they look like thick cables or rope lying on the beach.
Pottery tomorrow, my next piece is coming along really slowly, but I hope to get it finished in the next week or so, well ready to be bisque fired.

Happy Birthday Sam!!!
Our little pup is 2 today!!! hehe... umm no birthday cake or party! hehe just a nice chew as a treat.
We also decided that Scout should have her birthday the same day as we have no idea when she was born but the vet thinks she is about a year older than Sam, so she can share Sam's birthday and have hers today too.

We went for a lovely soggy walk this morning in the rain, and now they are having a lovely afternoon snooooze!
